Whence Do You Know the Happiness of Fish? was a durational performance installation based on human’s symbiotic relationship with another life form, which was carried out in an artificially created ecosystem. Collaborating with German biologist Andreas von Bresinsky, an indoor freshwater sturgeon farm was constructed inside Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig. The artist lived on the location for two weeks, where he slept in a tent and survived only on the fish in the pool. A makeshift workstation was also set up onsite, where the artist created a series of drawings.
